The covered deck is the organizing idea: a wood-plank ceiling over stone columns, opening the main living level to the valley below. Expansive windows and spacious gathering areas carry that connection through the interior, with warm finishes that keep the scale from feeling cold.

The siting work — how the home sits on its bench lot and which rooms get which view — was settled before the foundation went in.
